TZIRK is an intimate portrait of 8 year old circus child Alina, who works with her parents, Natasha and Sergei, in a small travelling circus. They live in a small caravan, which they share with their monkeys, rats and snakes that they use in their circus act.
Natasha and Sergei could not leave Alina at home and had no choice but bring her up in the circus. She is the only child there. Alina works like her parents in every performance, She announces the artists together with her mother and she is preparing for an act with three pytons.
Alina is trying hard to fulfil her parents wishes. The main question seems to be if it is a good idea to raise a new generation of circus artists, in a country where everything changes so quickly and the travelling circuses seem to disappear like snow in the sun?
